I am looking to recruit several doctoral students to join the Phillip M. Drayer Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Lamar University. These fully funded positions are expected to start as early as Spring 2026, Fall 2026, or Spring 2027. Selected students will conduct research in secure high-performance computing, focusing on topics including, but not limited to:
- High-Performance and Secure Computing
- Performance and Power Analysis & Modeling
- AI Accelerators
- Security and Reliability
- Machine Learning Application for Security
- Quantum Computing and Emerging Technologies
Requirements
I am seeking candidates with a solid background and an interest in interdisciplinary research. Following experience and skills are preferred.
- B.S. degree in CS, ECE, EEE, or a related field
- Strong background in computer architecture, machine learning, VLSI circuits, and FPGA/microcontroller
- Proficient in programming languages such as Python, C, C++, and VHDL/Verilog
- Hands-on experience with embedded platforms and embedded programming.
- Basic understanding of quantum computing theory and familiarity with the Qiskit software stack is a plus.
